HELPING THE NEEDY

Some good works you might like to be a part of or donate to:

1) Blankets and warm clothes - needed for distribution by St Andrew's (Willie at the church of Scotland) and the Salvation Army.
2) Travel size toiletries and men's socks and shoes for distribution at the Joel Nafuma refugee Centre (under St Paul's within the Walls.) And  wool yarn
for use in weaving scarves etc.
3) Helping to pack lunches on either Monday or Thursday mornings at St Andrew's.
4) Volunteering at the JN refugee Centre - they are currently having a re-think of their facilities and what they provide but will be on the look-out for
volunteers soon - either general help or to do some teaching / talking etc - details to follow - but if this sounds interesting you might like to get to
know some of the staff and volunteers by helping at their "work-day" on Sat 26th Jan - the idea is to do some clearing and cleaning (please let me know
so I can book you in).
They will be looking out for those who can teach languages (English and Italian) or could write a language curriculum for others to use. Teachers of art
and craft. Art therapists. Those who might mentor a young college student to set up a project at the centre.
5) Donating financially to any of these projects - more details on their way - eg the cost of a single lunch bag for a refugee.

Please get in touch for more details -
