PUNCHED AND KICKED IN THE FACE, AT THE OLGIATA SHOPING CENTRE, ENDS UP IN HOSPITAL WITH SERIUOUS INJURIES

It took place in the Olgiata Shopping Centre in broad daylight at around mid-day on Thursday 7th May
A coloured  guy held Shamim around the throat and punched him in the face, there were four other white guys (he thinks `not Italian') who went through his pockets. They stole around 300 euros, including money he had just drawn from the bancomat to pay his rent.
He called the ambulance who took him to the hospital via the Carabinieri
He will have an operation on Monday morning to drain down the injured eye socket, he hopes to be home on Tuesday and wants to be back at work by Friday.
He works very hard, he says he doesn't go out, he does his maintenance job at St. George's British International School, he also takes milk around Rome from farms to Indian restaurants and he does gardening for people.

He is a very sunny, positive, smiley and friendly person who works very hard for his family.
He has two brothers, parents and a pregnant wife who is expecting their first child, a baby girl, in August.
Shamim has been in Italy for 9 years and plans to stay here, probably for another 3 years or so.
It's been so heart warming to see how quickly the St George's community lead by newly appointed Chairwoman for Parents of St George's Mary Stuart Miller have begun to collect donations to help Shamiim.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to help Shamim and his family can do so by clicking on the link below:

It goes to a page for `Shamim's Fund' where people can donate in euros by credit or debit card.

Anyone who has seen anything at all that might help identify the four white guys please contact the La Storta Carabinieri or write to us if you don't speak Italian.  The Carabinieri plan to look over the Bank cameras to find out if they have registered the scene.
