HOW TO REALLY HELP EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

It is quite well known that Italian people have a great talent for reacting during emergencies. Their spirit of solidarity is truly great but sometimes the will to do something, to be there, may actually create the opposite effect and cause damages and waste of time. . We have heard the Civil Protection which have confirmed what the various News had already told us, that tons of food has already been sent, too much, and that for the tine being no more food is needed as it may risk being wasted. Lots of clothes and blankets have also been sent but everything is under control. Pirozzi, the Mayor of Amatrice, one of the towns that have completely collapsed under the earthquake, says that now lots of money is needed, as there is nothing left and the entire town needs to be rebuilt.
Therefore, what can we really do to help? Thanks to an agreement between the Department of the Civil Protection the Regions which have been hit by the earthquake, the telephone companies and the Media, a telephone line has been activated to collect funds for the reconstruction. of the collapsed towns. By calling the number 45500 and donating 2,00 Euros, you may contribute in the best way in helping these people. You may also call the same number from a land line and the Department of the Civil Protection will take care of collecting the funds and distributing them among the different areas hit by this devastating earthquake.
This service has been activated with the following operators: Vodafone, TIM, Tre, Fastweb, Infostrada, PosteMobili Wind, Coop Voce, CloudItalia, TWT.
We have interviewed some people who survived the Friuli earthquake about 40 years ago and they told us that tons of clothes were sent, including lots of evening dresses and high heel shoes., which are definitely not needed. So before we take off on our own to what we might think is a helping goal, let's first get the proper information on how to really help these people who have lost everything they had in a matter of just a few seconds while they were comfortably asleep in their homes. For now, sharing the number 45500 may be of great help. We wish to thank those wonderful angels from the Department of Civil Protection, the Italian Army, the Italian Navy, the Italian Airforce, the Finance, the Carabinieri, the Coast Guard and the Red Cross who have already saved over 250 lives.
