CELEBRATING FRIENDSHIP WITH WELCOME NEIGHBOR

A truly wonderful morning at Alessandra giannetti's house in Olgiata for what has now become a regular appointment every year.
This morning the Welcome Neighbor meeting fell right on Valentine's Day, bringing a good number of fantastic ladies together in an atmosphere of friendship and serenity.
Everyone gathered to play the friendship game, guessing the author behind the lines and getting to know one another a little better this way.

A very touching testimony was given by Debbie Riva who told the story of a young man who came to Italy from Africa running from a very unhealthy situation and looking for something better.  After living in an abandoned building in Rome for a long time, Victory found a small room and a job and was then able to take a two week gardening course in the UK, where he is now.  To bring it all together, an old friend who used to live in Olgiata and has now moved to the UK and only ten minutes from where Victory is was able to help out.
It was so intense and deeply felt by everyone that a beautifully quiet minute of silence was kept for the first time ever since the beginning of Welcome Neighbor.
Celebrating friendship, sharing stories and laughter and breaking down barriers.  That's what it's all about.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to come.
