welcome neighbor rome meets the orient

On Tuesday November 21st Welcome Neighbor gathered for a fund raising lunch at the Ristorante YU, Olgiata, in favour of the Integration Project organised by the Vivi Vejo Association to help immigrant children attending the local schools learn the Italian language and the Italian culture.  The Vivi Vejo volunteers, who have all received a certificate to teach Italian as a second language, have helped a certain number of children along the years and they have become a very needed part of the school system in Northern Rome.
Many thanks to the owners of the Ristorante YU Olgiata who prepared a lovely and abundant meal and donated two No limit dinners for the raffle and many thanks to the wonderful and friendly ladies who participated, representing so many countries from South America, to Africa, Northern and Southern Europe.   195 Euros were raised for the cause.
