BEST WISHES TO MARY STYELS

Sunday, June 30th, Mary Styles, Footsteps North Coordinator for the last 12 years, was ordained Priest at the All Saints Anglican Churchon Via del Babbuino in Rome. She is in fact one of the first women to be ordained in the eternal City, together

with American Dana English, an ex Presbiterian Minister who has preferred the Anglican Ministry.

The two women were ordained by Archbishop Edward Holland, Commissary to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

There were many priest present at the ceremony and the whole church was filled with friends, music and songs.

Mary will face a period of three year probation during which she can work side by side with a Priest from the Anglican Church and who knows?  Perhaps in the near future we may actually see an Anglican Branch of the Church right here in Northern Rome.  For now, Mary says, we have Footsteps which has been doing a fantastic job getting expat families together under God's guidance.  Mary will now be able to administer Holy Communion, to baptize and carry out weddings.

We wish Mary all the best in her new very important achievements and with all that is to come.
